If you’re planning to run in the big marathon this weekend, cheer someone on, or just tackle some errands, you’ll need to think ahead about driving and getting around Toronto on Sunday.

About 22,000 people are signed up for the Toronto Marathon, half-marathon, 10-kilometre run, and 5-kilometre run happening on Sunday, May 3.

To accommodate the race, several important routes will be closed from North York down to Lake Shore Blvd. More than 25 bus and streetcar routes that typically travel through the marathon route will also see changes.

Most road closures will start at 5 a. m. on Sunday and last until 4 p. m., though some key roads will open earlier than that.

Here’s a list of street closures set for May 3, as provided by the Toronto Police:

Several TTC routes will also be redirected because of the race:

Organizers have mentioned that the southbound ramps at Highway 401 and Yonge St are expected to reopen by around ten in the morning while Bloor St remains open for east-west travel options. Spadina Ave will stay accessible for those needing access to Billy Bishop Airport and the Queen’s Quay area.

The full marathon is set to begin at 7:30 a. m at the intersection of Yonge St. and North York Blvd,, with the half marathon starting shortly after at eight-thirty in the morning The ten-kilometre event kicks off at Lake Shore Blvd. and Strachan Ave. at seven-thirty as well, followed by the five-kilometre race beginning just thirty minutes later at eight o’clock.
