Thelma Stevens passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital in her 92nd year. She was the loving wife of the late John Stevens and companion of the late John Johnson. Thelma was a caring mother to Susan Irvine (Danny Irvine), Joan (Neil) White, the late William (Nancy) Stevens, and Allan (Heather) Stevens. She adored her 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The family will sadly miss Marilyn Johnson and Judy Risk. Throughout her nursing career, Thelma made a difference for many people; she served overseas as a Lieutenant Nursing Sister in the Royal Canadian Medical Corps and provided care to numerous families in Collingwood. All who knew her will remember her fondly. Visitation is set for First Presbyterian Church, 200 Maple Street, Collingwood on Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 1:00 p. m. until the Memorial Service begins at 2:00 p. m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made payable to the General & Marine Hospital Foundation or First Presbyterian Church.
