Lawrence Robert Montgomery
(April 18th, 1953 – July 17th, 2018) Lawrence was born in East York Township and grew up in Scarborough, ON. During his childhood, he played a lot of sports like baseball, hockey, and skiing. He worked for Bell Canada for over 30 years before retiring in 2010. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Patti) for 39 years. They started as close friends while working at Bell Canada and quickly realized they were meant to be together. They got married on May 19th, 1979, and raised their family in Stouffville, ON. Lawrence was a proud and caring father to two children: son Brian (Kayla) and daughter Krista (Jeff). His dedication to his wife and kids was unmatched. He provided for them, taught them valuable lessons, and was the foundation of their family. Whenever his children needed him, he was always there. He drove them to hockey games, spent weekends skiing with them at the hill, and worked hard to support them. After retiring with Patricia in Collingwood, ON, he enjoyed playing golf, skiing at Blue Mountain, and biking around town. He loved spending time with friends and family-both old and new-and always appreciated a good laugh along with a drink or two. We will deeply miss this wonderful man-husband, father, and the fun-loving character he was. We love you so much: Patti, Brian (Kayla), Krista (Jeff). We love you. A celebration of life will take place in his honor on July 29th, 2018 starting at 2pm at the Recreation Centre located at 75 Silver Glen Blvd., Collingwood, ON.
