Walter Friedl passed away on April 27, 2026, at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his wife Virginia, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years. He is a cherished father to Linda Mc Callum (David), Dr. Walter (Brenda), Michael (Jennifer), Mary Dowell (Doug), and Paul (Bin).

He was a proud grandfather to Chris Mc Callum (Jodie), Mary Mc Neill (Brad), Dr. Warren (Megan), and Dr. Zachary Friedl. His grandchildren also include Nicole Thiebert (Stephen) and Justin Friedl (Angelica), along with Kathryn and Jonathan Dowell.

As a great-grandfather, he loved Hailey and Emily Mc Callum, Camille and Conrad Friedl, Desmond Mc Neill, Liam and Owen Thibert, as well as Ryan Friedl.

He was predeceased by his parents Max and Elizabeth Friedl, as well as siblings Max Friedl (Ruth) and Elizabeth Anderson (Roger).

Walter will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

For many years, Walter worked as a manager at Mason’s Brokerage/ Mendelssohn-Commercial/ Livingston International. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Atonement Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and dedicating time to coordinating the maintenance team among other contributions.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel located at 11677 Tecumseh Road E on Friday May 1, 2026 from 2-4 PM and again from 7-9 PM. Parish prayers are scheduled for 3:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Atonement Church located at 2940 Forest Glade Dr. on Saturday May 2, 2026 at 10 AM with entombment following at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Walter to the Windsor Regional Hospital – Stroke Program.
