Burlington Hydro has announced that approximately 1,045 customers are currently experiencing a power outage in the city.

“Our crews are currently investigating the cause,” the public utility reports on X. “Thank you for your patience as we work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.”

The affected area seems to be around Appleby Line and Highway 407.

The outage was first noted before 5 p. m. tonight (Sept. 5), and teams are on-site attempting to resolve the issue.

Initial information suggests that high winds caused some wires to come down.

Power may not be restored for certain customers until early tomorrow morning.
