Sources have informed Radio-Canada that Canada will be the home of the new multinational Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB).

The DSRB is an international organization dedicated to financing defence, security and resilience projects for NATO allies and partner nations.

Three sources who are familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly told Radio-Canada that Canada has been chosen as the location for the new bank. The was first to break this story.

It’s estimated that establishing the bank could generate around 3,500 jobs in fields like defence finance, international operations and specialized research.

Four cities – Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver – are vying to be selected as the host for DSRB. The federal government will ultimately make the decision on where it will be based.

The bank plans to offer long-term credit solutions and facilitate cooperative purchasing of defence resources among multiple nations.
