Allan A. Carswell, 90, from Oreland, PA passed away on November 21, 2025 at Abington Jefferson Hospital. He was born on November 1, 1935 in Ottawa, Canada to James Everett and Vera Mae. Allan is survived by Joy, his loving wife of 67 years, and his brother Garnet (Lois). He was a devoted father to Jan Becker (John), Brent (Rita), Paul, and Julie. He enjoyed every moment spent with his 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Allan “Zeke” attended Glebe Collegiate High School where he earned several athletic awards throughout and after high school. His career began as a specialized engraver at Canadian Banknote Company before relocating to Philadelphia to work for Security Columbian Banknote Company in 1970. After retiring in 2000, he crafted hand-carved wooden birds with amazing detail and received multiple awards at various trade shows.

He seldom called a repairman because he appreciated the challenge and satisfaction that came from solving problems himself. His summers were spent at his cottage overlooking the peaceful Silver Lake where he sailed, water-skied, fished, and visited dear friends and family.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 13 at Tubman Garden Chapel Nepean, Ontario Canada.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse in memory of Allan.
