In one of the most unequal races of 2018, incumbent John Yakabuski won nearly 70 percent of the votes in Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke.

The NDP candidate finished far behind with just under 17 percent.

Green Party candidate Anna Dolan is back after receiving just under three percent of total votes last time.

This race features seven candidates.

The Green Party candidate studied architecture at Carleton University.

Now retired, she has volunteered with a group that assists new immigrants in finding jobs in their fields.

Oliver Jacob, Liberal

The Liberal candidate is among the youngest individuals to serve as a councillor for the Township of Mc Nab/Braeside.

He also volunteers with several organizations, including Arnprior Regional Health and the Renfrew and Area Community Safety and Wellbeing Planning Table.

Kade Mac Williams, Ontario Party

The Ontario Party candidate is a university student studying biomedical and electrical engineering at Carleton.

He has been part of the Pembroke Legion Community Band and Scouts Canada.

Thomas O’Connor, New Blue

The New Blue candidate worked as a paramedic for 13 years and volunteered with the local fire department.

He grew up in Renfrew County and has a wife and three kids.

Murray Reid, Ontario Provincial Confederation of Regions Party

Kurt Stoll, NDP

The NDP candidate has around 20 years of experience in mining, agriculture, and nuclear projects across various parts of Canada.

He moved to Ontario from Saskatchewan when he was in his twenties to study in Thunder Bay and then Hamilton.

John Yakabuski, PC

The PC candidate was first elected as an MPP in 2003, and winning would give him his sixth term in office.

He previously worked as a real estate sales representative and owned Yakabuski’s Home Hardware in Barry’s Bay.
