Accident Involving Police Cruiser on Highway 7

Officers from the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency responders arrived at the site of a vehicle collision on Highway 7 near Television Road that involved an OPP car.

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, around 1:40 pm, Peterborough County OPP received reports about a crash that had just happened at the intersection of Highway 7 and Television Road. They learned that one of the vehicles was an unmarked cruiser operated by an officer who was on duty. The other vehicle involved was a pickup truck with four civilians inside.

Following the accident, all passengers in both vehicles were taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries and as a precaution.

The intersection of Highway 7 / Highway 115 and Television Road remained closed for several hours while emergency teams managed the situation. Police officers trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.

The investigation into what caused the crash is still ongoing.
