George was a man who brought warmth and kindness to everyone he met, and he left us unexpectedly on April 23, 2026. He was born on October 21, 1941, in Windsor, Ontario, where he grew up, learned his trade, and built a family. Throughout his life, he formed many connections that shaped who he was.
George is survived by his loving wife Marlene (Belland), as well as his two wonderful daughters, Lu-Anne Nechitaluk (Fred) with partner John Whitehead and Lisa Crichton (Brad). He took great pride in being the best Papa to his grandsons Mitchell Crichton (Dana), Garret Crichton (Jenna), and Great-Grand Papa to Blair, Brooks, and soon Callie.
He will also be missed every day by his siblings Don (Sheila), Beverly (Glenn), the late Jean Vaillancourt, Mario (Linda), Andrea, Michael (Beverley), James (Lynda), Wayne (Donna), Angela (Mike) and Paul (Aileen), along with many nieces and nephews.
George devoted himself to the craft of sheet metal work and took pride in the quality of his work. He was a respected member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 235. His contributions were significant on various projects throughout Ontario. In addition to work, he enjoyed sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the ICU team at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus for their dedication and support during this time.
