We are heartbroken to share the news of Ronald Michael Antaya’s passing on January 26, 2026, at the age of 73. He was born on April 8, 1952, in Windsor, Ontario.

Ron was the beloved son of Melvin and Katie (née Lavin) Antaya. He leaves behind his loving wife, Janet (née Sturgeon), with whom he enjoyed 15 wonderful years of marriage and a total of 37 years together. They created a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Ron was a proud father to his kids: Jason (Rachel), Chuckie (Monica), Doug (Satty), Sherry (Joe), and Ronnie (Mary Jane). His grandchildren Jordan, Ryker, Zara, Melody, Brittany (Autumn), Charles, and Aiden brought him immense joy.

He is also remembered by his siblings: sisters Cindy, Denise, and Linda; brother Jeff; and stepmom Solange. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his dear sister Debbie.

Ron dedicated 28 years to General Motors as a proud member of the GM Union. He demonstrated hard work and dedication-values he passed down to his family. Beyond work, Ron had many interests. He loved golfing and enjoyed playing as well as watching baseball, hockey, and football. Staying updated with current events was important to him; he made it a habit each evening to call every family member because he truly cared about them.

Known for being loving yet stubborn and caring at heart, Ron had an infectious laugh that could brighten any room. His knack for noticing little things combined with his light-hearted approach brought joy to those around him. Above all else, he adored his wife Janet-everyone could see how much they meant to each other.

The family asks that anyone wishing to honor Ron’s memory consider making a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society-causes that were very meaningful to him.

During this difficult time of loss, the family wants to express their heartfelt gratitude to Darlene Dagenais, Sherry Marshall, Jason and Rachel Antaya, Brittany, and Satty for their constant love and support during this unexpected period of grief.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Windsor Chapel Banwell (11677 Tecumseh Rd. East, Windsor ON) from noon until 3 pm with a Funeral Service following at 3 pm. Cremation will take place afterward.

Ronald Michael Antaya will be deeply missed but always remembered for his kindness and laughter along with the love he freely shared. His spirit will continue living on in the hearts of family and friends who carry forward his message of love and joy.
