The East Lions Community Centre is situated at 1731 Churchill Avenue.

Parking at the East Lions Community Centre is free. Check London Public Transit for public transit locations, schedules, and fees. For general questions about recreation programs or to book a rental, call 519-661-5575 or email recreation@london. ca. To reach facility staff, call 519-661-2489, extension 4406. 

Hours of operation

The hours of operation may differ depending on registration.

Recreation customer service hours

Monday to Friday, 10 a. m. to 6 p. m.

Visit our Play Your Way website to register and pay for programs held at the East Lions Community Centre.

Cancellations and closures

Amenities

This spacious 42,000-square-foot community centre at East Lion’s Park features a six-lane, 25-meter indoor lap pool and a smaller leisure pool; a gymnasium; multi-purpose activity spaces; a community kitchen; a lounge; universal change rooms; and art studios.

Gymnasium Double gymnasium that can be divided with a drop-down curtain Hardwood floor Sport specific details: Badminton – full gym with three nets set up Pickleball – full gym with three nets set up Volleyball – two net setups available on each half Basketball – two courts available; one on each half, plus a center court option (full gym), with six height adjustable basketball nets Floor hockey – plastic sticks only (only kids programs allowed)Soccer – indoor ball Special events and various activities like fitness programs. Viewing area in lobby located on the north side of the gym Aquatics Six-lane, 25-meter lap pool Smaller leisure pool Accessible ramps in both pools Universal change rooms equipped with adjustable change tables and ceiling transfer lift Accessible washrooms Program offerings include recreational swims, lane swims, women-only swimming sessions, aquafit classes, swim lessons and aquatic leadership programs

Multipurpose Room One Suitable for recreation programs, leisure activities, meetings, private rentals, gatherings or passive activities that don’t involve throwing or kicking. Can be divided into two sections using a dividing wall (side A is closest to reception/customer service counter on the west side while side B is adjacent to kitchen space on the east side)Attached to kitchen space (on east side for side B)Make sure to book at least half of it (side B) when reserving the kitchen for your programs One sink and countertop located on the west end (side A)Projector and screen are available on the west end of room (side A)Roller shades for privacy Multipurpose Room Two Designed for recreation programs, leisure activities, meetings or private rentals. Can be divided into two sections (side A nearest reception/customer service counter while side B is further east)Shuffleboard lines are painted on the floor Sinks and countertops are available on both sides (A & B)Projector and screen are positioned at the west end of room (side A)Roller shades provide privacy Community kitchen A teaching kitchen featuring commercial appliances including one fridge, two stoves, two ovens, and overhead electrical outlets suitable for small appliances, six stainless steel countertops along with moveable height-adjustable workspaces. A great fit for recreation cooking classes/private rentals/community events. Dividing wall can separate multi-purpose room #1 from the kitchen. Activity studio Ideal for fitness classes like aerobics, yoga, strength training, etc., as well as dance. Sprung hardwood flooring, ballet bar, and floor-to-ceiling mirrors. North Art Room Perfectly designed for art-related classes/activities/private rentals. Meets needs including sinks, countertops, S. M. A. R. T TV installed for instructional demonstrations. Glass divider separates north from south art room. South Art Room Exclusive access provided by Weavers & Spinners using their looms/spinning wheels. Instructional classes run by expert artisans complete with S. M. A. R. T TV support during learning demonstrations. Glass divider between north/south art room also present. Aquatics Meeting Room Reserved primarily for aquatics leadership initiatives.
