[ad_1]Dean passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and friends at home in Elgin, Ontario, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the age of 86.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Norma Appleton-Taggart, father Wilmer and mother Edna Dixon-Taggart, along with his sister Alice.Dean is survived by his stepson Brent (Kim) from Newboro, Ontario. Honorary son Paul Younge of Westport, Ontario; Jen (Bill) Ashburn of Font Hill; brothers Allen and Gordon Taggart of Westport; and Beulah Wright of Beechburg, Ontario.Brent, Kim, and Paul want to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who cared for Dad through Ontario Health at Home, Bayshore Health, Dr. Ux, Dr. Oh, and Dan O’Ferrell from Elgin Pharma Choice Drugstore for allowing him to stay in his home until his final moments.We also wish to thank the amazing support and love Dad received from special neighbors Sheryl Galway and John Thibault of Elgin as well as longtime family friends Gerry and Joyce Bresee of Westport.
