Ontario Provincial Police in Lanark have confirmed the identity of the individual who died under suspicious circumstances, which investigators have classified as a homicide.
According to police, officers responded to a report at Last Duel Park on April 12 shortly after 3 p. m., where they found someone with serious injuries.
The person was taken to a trauma center but was later declared deceased.
Authorities believe this incident was targeted and do not see any broader threat to the public. The park has since reopened, and there is no longer a significant police presence in the area.
Investigators are continuing their work and are actively keeping an eye on the situation.
