Fortunately, no one was injured following a high-speed collision last Wednesday afternoon that damaged two large vehicles on Highway 60 just beyond Northcote. Photos by Alex Lambert.

Douglas – The only occupants of the two vehicles involved in a head-on crash on Highway 60 last Wednesday astonishingly walked away without any major injuries.

The Douglas Fire Department was called to the scene of the two-vehicle accident involving a half-ton truck and an SUV on Hwy. 60 at Northcote Road at 12:19 p. m. on February 25. The road conditions were clear and the sun was shining when the crash occurred.

The half-ton truck was traveling east on Hwy. 60 while the SUV was headed west when they collided, with both vehicles sustaining heavy damage to their driver’s sides.

Both drivers had exited their vehicles by the time fire personnel arrived. Firefighters helped manage traffic as OPP carried out their investigation. One individual was taken to the hospital after being evaluated by County of Renfrew paramedics.

Even though the fronts of both vehicles were completely wrecked, the larger half-ton truck sustained less damage despite landing in a nearby ditch.
