This time, it wasn’t déjà vu.
The London Knights headed into the third period with a solid 5-1 advantage for the second night in a row and managed to secure a 6-2 win against the Oshawa Generals in Game 4 of the OHL Championship series.
This victory puts London ahead three games to one as they return home to Canada Life Place for Game 5 on Thursday, May 15.
Knights forward Kasper Halttunen netted a hat trick for the second straight game.
London defenseman Sam Dickinson scored twice and added two assists, becoming the all-time leader in playoff points by a defenceman for the Knights.
Easton Cowan contributed two assists, bringing his total to ten points over his last three games.

The first period ended without any goals despite both teams having five power play opportunities.
The second period told a different tale altogether.
London found the net five times and entered the third period with that same familiar 5-1 lead they had in Game 3.

Sam Dickinson got things started at 6:27 when Henry Brzustewicz created a turnover just inside Oshawa’s blue line as the Generals were exiting their zone. Dickinson picked up the puck behind their defense and outmaneuvered Jacob Oster for his eighth goal of these playoffs (the most among OHL defencemen) and his first goal of this Championship series.

A power play goal by Halttunen later in that second period pushed it further along to that well-known score of 5-1.
Cal Ritchie then scored just forty-one seconds into the third period for Oshawa, reducing London’s lead back down to three goals.
Halttunen capped off his hat trick at nine minutes and thirty-seven seconds by scoring against Isaac Gravelle who had replaced Oster in net at start of those final twenty minutes.
That was all she wrote as far as scoring went. The Knights outshot Oshawa with thirty-nine shots compared to twenty-five while going two-for-six on power plays and shutting out Oshawa completely on penalties taken against them at five-for-five success rate.
