Officers from the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have filed charges related to intimate images being shared with a minor.
On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the Peterborough County OPP received a call from a parent who found out their child was chatting with an adult and that the discussion had sexual content. The parent reached out to the police after checking the child’s phone and discovering sexually explicit images and videos exchanged between them.
An investigation was initiated by the Peterborough County OPP Major Crime Unit, leading to an arrest on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Philip TEMOS (age 48) of Hastings, ON., was taken into custody and charged with;
• Making sexually explicit material available to a person under 18 years of age
• Luring a person under 18 years of age through telecommunication
• Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
The suspect was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
The aim is to serve our province by protecting its citizens, enforcing laws, and ensuring public safety.
