Peterborough County OPP have taken two people into custody for assault following a report of intimate partner violence. On December 12, 2025, Peterborough County OPP received a call about an assault that occurred at a home in Peterborough County. The caller mentioned that there had been an argument leading to a physical confrontation, during which an adult child intervened and injured one of the individuals involved. Officers arrived at the scene and spoke with everyone present. After collecting details, it was found that both individuals were responsible for the assault and they were subsequently arrested. A 66-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were both charged with assault. The two accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on a future date.
