Isaiah Thomas Badger has been taken into custody.

A suspect in the shooting deaths of two men from Ontario has been apprehended by law enforcement.

The 19-year-old Isaiah Thomas Badger was arrested in Calgary after being on the run for several weeks.

A nationwide warrant was issued for Badger following shootings that occurred weeks apart earlier this year at shopping plazas in Vaughan and Etobicoke.

He now faces two counts of first-degree murder.

On January 26, Sergio Lopes, 65, from Richmond Hill, was shot dead in Vaughan at a plaza close to Rowntree Dairy Road and Winges Road.

Then, on February 7, Chandan Kumar Raja Nandakumar, 37, from Brampton, was killed in the parking lot of Woodbine Mall at Rexdale Boulevard and Highway 27.

Authorities from both York Region and Toronto state that in both incidents the victims were targeted; however, no connection between the two murders or a motive has been established yet.

A second individual involved with the shootings, Jacob Wallace, 19, was arrested in the distant northern Ontario town of Moosonee on March 5. He is also charged with first-degree murder.
