A boil water advisory was issued on Friday afternoon for certain areas in St. Thomas after tests showed bacteria in the local water supply.
Southwestern Public Health has released this advisory as a safety measure, impacting the following locations:
East Avenue. Chester Street. West Avenue. Devonshire Place. Balflour Street. Ada Street. Parkside Drive. Bell Drive. Henry Street. Glenbanner Street. Willow Street. Wilson Avenue (#2-193). Bush Line (40359). Elm Street (#25-80). Palm Street (#4-17). Sunset Drive (#126-188). Pinafore Park.
Officials are urging residents and businesses to boil tap water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, brushing teeth, preparing baby formula or juice, washing raw foods, or making ice.
This advisory will remain in effect until further notice, pending clean test results.
