On March 19th, 2026, at around 8:50 a. m., an officer from the Thunder Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment was on routine patrol and pulled over a Sports Utility Vehicle on Highway 11-17 in the Municipality of Shuniah.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the driver was not allowed to operate a motor vehicle and had also been drinking. The driver was arrested after refusing to provide additional breath samples for an approved screening device (ASD).
As a result, Kiera Jorden DRYSTEK-HENRY, a 32-year-old from Thunder Bay, has been arrested and charged with:
Criminal Code:
Failure or refusal to comply with demand; Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code;
Highway Traffic Act:
Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor; Obstruct Plate; Dirty Plate;
Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act:
Fail to surrender insurance card;
The accused has been released from custody and is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on April 29th, 2026.
