An Oshawa woman is set for a vacation in Jamaica after she correctly matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the exact order during the February 21 LOTTO 6/49 draw, winning $100,000.
Janet Wallace, who has been working with a nonprofit organization, has been playing OLG lottery games for about 30 years. She enjoys switching between Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max and always adds Encore to her tickets.
Once she found out about her big win, Wallace shared the news with her family. “They believed me immediately and were so excited for me,” she smiled. “It’s absolutely amazing! I don’t think it’s completely hit me yet, but I feel very grateful.”
The 54-year-old intends to invest some of her winnings for future needs and treat herself to a well-earned vacation. “I went to Jamaica about 35 years ago, and I’d love to go back. With this prize, there’s room to have some fun.”
Encore offers 22 different ways to win and can be played alongside most lottery games for just an extra $1. There are two draws every day.
The ticket that won was bought at Sky Farm Food Mart on Simcoe St. N. in Oshawa.
