Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene of a crash on the eastbound side of Highway 401 close to Guelph Line, leading to a search for one suspect.
The collision was reported around 1:20 p. m. on Thursday, involving two vehicles and some minor injuries were noted.
According to OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt speaking with 570 News Radio, the suspect took off on foot following the incident.
Officers searched the area but could not find the individual.
This incident caused a temporary closure of two eastbound lanes while police started their investigation and cleared the wreckage from both vehicles.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were fully reopened by 2:16 p. m.
OPP stated that their investigation into both the accident and the suspect’s location continues.
