Joan Marie Oknianski peacefully left us at the age of 95 on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, while at the Ontario Finnish Resthome. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Oknianski and her 11 siblings.
She is survived by her son Michael Oknianski (Carolyn). Joan was a proud grandmother to Tanner Oknianski (Chanelle) and Caylee Oknianski. She also enjoyed being a great grandmother to Rowen, Madelyn, and Brynn.
Joan loved playing golf and was an enthusiastic curler and cross-country skier. She joined the Sault Ste. Marie River Boat Club in 1948. Watching sports on TV brought her joy, with tennis being one of her favorites.
A celebration of life will be arranged for a later date.
