Restaurants in Whitby and Pickering were held up at knifepoint last week, with both cases involving a suspect who threatened staff with a knife before taking cash.
Authorities responded to an armed robbery at the Little Caesars on Dundas Street in Whitby on Sunday night, shortly after 7 p. m. They reported that a man, described as Black, standing between 6’2” and 6’3” with a medium build, entered the restaurant and threatened employees with a knife while demanding money from the register. The suspect left the scene before police arrived.
Just three days earlier, officers were called to a similar situation at B Boyz restaurant on Brock Road in Pickering. The suspect, also described as Black with a medium build, entered the establishment around 10:40 p. m., threatening an employee with a knife while asking for cash. Like before, he escaped prior to police arrival.
No staff members were injured during either incident.
