It’s that time of year again! Every year, Santa’s Magical Mailbox makes its way to 296 Haliburton Heights, where kids (and adults!) from all over Stittsville can drop off their wish lists to be sent directly to the North Pole. This has become a lovely local tradition. The best part? No postage is needed!
The Lunar New Year is the most significant traditional festival in Chinese culture, symbolizing renewal, reunion, blessings, and cultural heritage. It’s both a joyful celebration and a meaningful time for our community. We’d love for you to join us as we mark this special occasion. The event will take place on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 12:00 p. m. – 5:00 p. m. at John G. Mlacak Community Centre (Hall A/B/C/D), located at 2500 Campeau Drive in Kanata. More info: kcssc. org
The “Ottawa-Carleton Trailway” parkrun starts on the Trans Canada Trail by the dog park pathway entrance near Shea and Granite Ridge and runs along Robert Grant to Bobolink and back. There are no road crossings along this route. It’s a 5km run suitable for all skill levels. The event happens every Saturday at 9:00 a. m. For more information, please visit parkrun Canada. St. Thomas Anglican Church at 1619 Stittsville Main accepts gently used clothing every Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 a. m. to 1:00 p. m. Please do not leave clothing after these hours. They accept items without holes, rips, or pet hair-welcome are all sizes of clothes as well as shoes, boots, and outerwear. If you’re interested in volunteering with set-up, sorting or take down, please call 613-836-5741. Their Next to New Clothing store is only open for recipients of the Stittsville Food Bank. “Junior Athletes” is a non-profit children’s sport program designed to help kids feel confident and included while enjoying movement through fun activities that encourage them to learn at their own pace. The goal is simple: we want kids to find a love for sports that lasts beyond the season’s end. The Winter 2026 season will offer programs on Sundays at Roger-Saint-Denis School, located at 186 Barrow Crescent in Kanata South-features include Parent & Tot Soccer (ages 2-3), soccer for ages 4-5, and basketball for ages 9-13 each week gives kids opportunities to be active while making friends and feeling good about themselves.
