With sadness, we share that our dear Viola Bezanson passed away peacefully in the early morning of June 16, 2025, after a courageous fight against cancer. Viola was a loving daughter, sister, partner, aunt, and friend who will be missed by everyone lucky enough to have known her. Viola had many skills and interests. She was a devoted dog mom to her beloved Tessa and an enthusiastic crafter-making lovely quilts and detailed cross-stitch pieces that she freely shared with friends and family throughout the years. Her passion for thrifting brought joy to those who joined her on those adventures, as she had a knack for uncovering gems that mirrored her one-of-a-kind personality. For 32 years, Viola dedicated herself as a cook at Valley View Villa. She also held positions at several other places like Digby Pines, Chris’s Place, McCraes, and McLeod’s. Viola’s enthusiasm for life and work remained strong wherever she went. She is survived by her loving partner Bob Nason Jr., her mother Donelda Bezanson; her brother Burce Bezanson (Gordie); and her sisters Cindy MacLean (Ed), Cathy Coady, Karen Smith (Donnie), and Lee Bezanson (Dennis). Additionally, she leaves behind her sisters-in-law Gail Nason and Janet Baxter along with nieces and nephews Matthew, Katherine, Megan, Ashley, Michelle; great-nephews Max, Leeland, Tristan, Finn; great-niece Peanut; plus many extended family members. Viola was predeceased by her father Donald Bezanson. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. Following this will be a celebration of Viola’s life at 3:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in Thorburn Cemetery.
