A collision in Corunna on New Year’s Eve claimed the life of a 20-year-old driver.

According to Lambton County OPP, on December 31 at 10:45 p.m., emergency crews were called to a report of a collision on Bentinck Street.

A vehicle had struck a tree. The 20-year-old driver from Corunna was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Bentinck Street was closed between Cameron Street and Moore Street for several hours to allow for the investigation, but the road has since re-opened.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who has any potential dash cam or surveillance footage, to contact Lambton County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
