On October 24, 2026, an important event took place at a gas station situated at the intersection of Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue West in Vaughan. A suspect allegedly walked into the store, got into a physical confrontation by pushing an employee, and made off with several lottery tickets. Not long after, the suspect, who was identified as 42-year-old Julian Yousif, returned to another nearby gas station to check the stolen tickets using a lottery kiosk.
Julian Yousif, who does not have a permanent address, was later arrested at a hotel in the Rexdale area. He is facing multiple charges including robbery, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, fraud under $5,000, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. York Regional Police are urging anyone who might have been impacted by similar incidents involving Yousif to come forward.
