Certain devices didn’t recognize that communities in northwestern Ontario’s Central Time Zone are now permanently on Daylight Saving Time.
On Sunday, some residents noticed that the time displayed on their smartphones, computers, and car clocks had reverted back by one hour, similar to previous years.
They needed to manually adjust their devices to show the correct time.
Several businesses were also busy fixing their time-sensitive systems.
The Ontario government has permitted local communities to align their clocks with Manitoba, which is also continuing with Daylight Saving Time.
This decision aligns Central Time Zone areas with the rest of Ontario and Quebec for the upcoming six months.
