MARKHAM, Ontario (Sept. 3, 2025) – Green Savoree Toronto ULC, the City of Markham, and INDYCAR revealed today that the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy will relocate in 2026 under a multi-year agreement. Organized by Green Savoree Toronto ULC, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES will race on a thrilling new street circuit in Markham from August 14-16, 2026.
Markham is right next to Toronto’s northeastern border and located in York Region, which is seeing rapid growth with over 1.25 million residents already living there. The race will take place in Markham Centre, the city’s lively downtown area that hosts many Canadian corporate headquarters, the York University Markham Campus, and the renowned Markham Pan Am Centre – an important venue during the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games.

With easy access via two major highways, Unionville GO Station, and VIVA Rapid Transit system, the new circuit in Markham is perfectly positioned to welcome fans from all over Southern Ontario and beyond. The Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham will be York Region’s largest sports and cultural festival ever. The event is expected to attract over 140,000 attendees during its three-day run and create millions of dollars in economic activity through sports tourism, hospitality services, and events.

The temporary track will be constructed in eastern downtown Markham between Kennedy Road, Enterprise Boulevard, Unionville GO tracks and Highway 407. Renowned track designer Tony Cotman from NZR Consulting has spearheaded designing this temporary circuit featuring a layout with 12 turns over a distance of 3.52 kilometers (2.19 miles), including dual pit lanes along with exciting straightaways and challenging sectors. The City of Markham has started preliminary work on both the track and festival site together with Metrolinx and other local partners.

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES stands out as North America’s premier open-wheel racing competition featuring incredible drivers from around the globe racing at speeds exceeding 370 kph (230 mph). Alongside hosting the famous Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge series also includes various oval races alongside temporary street circuits as well as permanent road courses throughout North America. The NTT INDYCAR SERIES falls under INDYCAR’s sanctioning body-the authority overseeing North America’s top open-wheel racing series-and is part of Penske Entertainment family.
