All Ontarians who are six months and older can now receive a free flu and COVID-19 vaccination.
Starting Monday, these vaccinations are available to the general public. Residents of Ontario can get the vaccines at participating pharmacies, public health units, as well as doctor and nurse practitioner offices throughout the province.
The annual fall immunization program began on September 28 for high-risk groups like seniors and healthcare workers.
“Vaccination helps reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization, particularly for older adults and other vulnerable populations,” said Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore. “I encourage Ontarians to get vaccinated as soon as possible to help keep themselves and their loved ones healthy this season.”
Moore also mentioned that it’s safe and recommended to get both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time to avoid having to make multiple visits to a healthcare provider.
You can find a list of pharmacies providing the COVID-19 and flu vaccines online at ontario. ca/vaccine-locations/.
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) shots are also being offered to those aged 75 years or older, long-term care residents, retirement home residents, infants up to eight months old born on or after April 1, 2026, as well as pregnant women.
