The Municipal Election is happening tomorrow, and the City of Windsor wants to remind everyone that polls will be open from 10 a. m. to 8 p. m. throughout the city and across Ontario.
In Windsor, you can vote at any location within your ward. You can find the locations listed on the city’s website.
For voters in Leamington, Kingsville, Amherstburg, Lakeshore, and Essex, polling stations are available as well. La Salle is conducting its voting online, while Tecumseh offers voting by phone.
If you haven’t received your Voter Notification Card yet, don’t worry. You can still vote if you bring a piece of government-issued photo ID like a driver’s license, health card, or passport.
A list of acceptable identification for polling places can be found here. The rules remain consistent no matter which municipality you’re in.
If there’s incorrect information on your Voter Notification Card, make sure to bring it along with valid identification to the polling place. They will correct the information there. New cards won’t be issued but you’ll still be able to vote.
If you can’t make it to the polls on Election Day, you have the option to designate someone else to vote for you. Proxy forms are available at the Office of the City Clerk located at 350 City Hall Square West, Suite 530. You can also reach them by calling 519-255-6100 ext. 6285.
Eligible voters can catch a ride to their polling station on Transit Windsor buses; just let the bus driver know you’re heading out to cast your ballot.
