Lawrence passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood, Ontario. He was 87 years old.
A loving father to his daughter Debra Simpson (Williams), son Douglas Vaughan, and stepson Roy Vaughan (Linda). He was a proud Grandpa to 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Lawrence is predeceased by his parents James Fredrick Brown and Marion Viola Vaughan. He is also survived by his younger sister Marilyn (Maxted) Vaughan and step-sister Sylvina Brown (Thompson).
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Nicholls Funeral Home – 330 Midland Ave, Midland, Ontario from 6pm to 8pm. A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 11am. Lawrence will be laid to rest with his mother on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Brampton Memorial Gardens – 10061 Chinguacousy Rd, Brampton, Ontario at noon.
