An incumbent along with three challengers are vying to represent Mississauga Wards 6 and 11 on the Peel District School Board (PDSB).
To assist voters in getting familiar with the candidates, Metroland sent out a questionnaire to everyone running. Here’s what they shared:
Patrick Khrenaron Ma
What is your occupation?
I work in accounting, personal tax, and small business management.
Do you live in the ward you are running in (Ward 6 or 11)?
Yes, specifically in Ward 6.
How long have you lived in Mississauga?
I’ve been here for twenty-two years. This city has been my home as long as I can remember. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but Mississauga.
What is your previous political experience?
What are your priorities if elected?
I aim to advocate for the needs of students and their families while ensuring that PDSB schools stay safe and inclusive learning environments.
Furthermore, while technology like computers and AI brings many benefits, it can also distract from student focus and language development. If elected, I’ll promote an emphasis on written assessments.
I believe that reintroducing school workshop programs would greatly benefit students since hands-on learning can ignite early interest in skilled trades.
What is your contact information?

Jill Promoli
What is your occupation?
I currently serve as the trustee for Mississauga Ward 6 and Ward 11, while also working within Mississauga’s food bank system where last year, around 31 percent of our visitors were children.
Do you live in the ward you are running in (Ward 6 or 11)?
p >
I reside in Ward 8 but am just outside both wards six and eleven where we spend most of our time. This situation has actually helped me as a trustee because I’m a parent of two kids enrolled at PDSB schools. I have insights into both elementary and secondary education without conflicts at their schools when attending events as their mom. This balance has worked well for perspective and effective governance. p >
How long have you lived in Mississauga? h3 > p >
I’ve been living here for fifteen years with my kids attending PDSB schools since two thousand fourteen. p >
What is your previous political experience? h3 > p >
Since two thousand twenty-two, I’ve held the position of trustee for wards six and eleven. I’m proud to be endorsed by the Peel Regional Labour Council. As your trustee, I’ve successfully advocated for an additional one hundred twenty-one point five full-time equivalent educational assistants; introduced policies to better handle extreme heat days; created an action plan against targeted bullying and harassment. p >
My focus has always been about creating safe spaces where our children can thrive academically. I’ve acted as chair of the discipline committee while also being vice-chair for curriculum, equity, student well-being; serving on various committees related to traffic safety, governance/policy matters budget (with balanced budgets annually available publicly), physical planning/finance/building matters. p >
I’ve previously run for provincial office too while helping shape policy platforms regarding public education along with illness prevention efforts focused on improving staffing ratios so every child gets support needed.
Since losing our child due to a flu outbreak linked back to school systems back in two thousand sixteen, I’ve led public health campaigns earning national/international backing aimed at protecting communities through awareness initiatives. I hold a degree within political science along with credentials surrounding governance ethics.
What are your priorities if elected? h2 > p >
If re-elected, my priority remains unchanged: safe, welcome, and well-maintained facilities advocating necessary staffing across every establishment catering towards diverse learner requirements. Working closely alongside pupils, parent-teacher alliances & educational workers allows us insight into challenges affecting school climates/community factors influencing student success which we’ll address promptly. I will continue prioritizing accountability/transparency enabling families’ trust towards us(PDSB)because that’s essential. I recognize many new trustees coming aboard this term hence I’ll mentor them ensuring effective representation/governance throughout Peel leading towards stable board functions benefitting all residents concerned. I take pride reflecting upon accomplishments over past four years aimed directly benefiting families within community role often misconceived/challenging yet fundamentally important. I fully understand responsibilities tied up within job description striving consistently supporting each child’s interests fighting constantly pushing towards improvements enhancing experiences provided across students involved. html >
