WHITBY – Authorities in Whitby, Ont., report that a woman has passed away after being struck by a car.

Durham Regional Police say they received a call regarding the incident at Brock Street North and Mary Street West on Friday afternoon.

The 82-year-old woman was attempting to cross the street when she was hit by a vehicle.

She was transported to a trauma center in the Toronto area with critical injuries but later succumbed to her injuries.

According to police, the driver stayed at the scene and assisted investigators.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with video footage of the collision to reach out.
