Authorities report that a driver is dealing with several charges, including impaired operation, after their vehicle crashed into a hydro pole in Waterloo.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) received a call around 9:45 p. m. on Wednesday regarding a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Erbsville Rd. and Bisch St.
According to police, the car failed to stop at a stop sign, crossed two lanes of traffic, went off the road, and hit the pole.
The driver was transported to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, and there were no other injuries reported.
Police indicated that both the vehicle and the hydro pole sustained considerable damage from the incident.
A 45-year-old man from Waterloo has been charged with impaired operation, dangerous driving, and stunt driving.
