A traffic stop in North Perth resulted in an arrest along with multiple drug and weapons charges.
After the stop on Aug. 1, a joint investigation by the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police, Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), and Huron Major Crimes Unit (MCU) led to a search warrant being executed at a home in Waterloo.
The outcomes from the search warrant and the traffic stop included finding a variety of drugs, such as suspected morphine and methamphetamine, valued at over $3,000. Additionally, police took possession of the accused’s vehicle as well as several weapons.
A resident of Waterloo has been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance, possession of a Schedule I substance for trafficking purposes, two counts of unauthorized weapon possession, and two counts of possessing a weapon contrary to prohibition order.
The Waterloo resident was arrested but later released from custody. They are set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on Oct. 19, 2026.

On July 13, 2026, around 4:30 p. m., authorities claim that a woman stole various items from a retail store. According to police reports, she is described as white with an average build and long brown hair; she was wearing a grey T-shirt at the time.
