A tragic accident on Monday in South Windsor resulted in one person’s death, leaving a vehicle overturned with its roof partly crushed.
Authorities were called to the scene around 1:30 p. m. Monday for a two-car crash near Cabana Road West and Rankin Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered one car with severe front-end damage and another that had flipped onto its roof.
The driver of one vehicle was taken to the hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.

The occupants of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Cabana Road was closed for several hours Monday afternoon between Rankin and Charlevoix Avenue while officers, including members of the collision reconstruction unit, conducted their investigation.
