A 19-year-old woman from Atwood has died following a two-vehicle crash in North Perth on Wednesday evening, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
At approximately 7:17 p. m., Perth County OPP and other emergency responders arrived at the scene of the crash on Perth Line 72 near Perth Road 140 in the Municipality of North Perth.
Emergency teams “attempted life-saving measures upon arrival,” but sadly, the young woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The police have not yet disclosed her identity.
A passenger from one of the vehicles was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, as stated by OPP.
The driver of the second vehicle was also transported to the hospital with injuries that were not deemed life-threatening.
Perth Line 72 was closed between Road 147 and Road 136 for several hours while the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team conducted their investigation. The road reopened around 5:40 a. m.
The inquiry is still ongoing.

Police Looking for Driver After Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run
London police are asking for assistance as they investigate a hit-and-run incident where a pedestrian was struck in a parking lot located in Carling Heights neighborhood of the city. A man was hit in a parking lot near Oxford and Gammage streets, east of Adelaide Street, around 6:30 p. m. on Sunday. He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to police reports. The vehicle did not stay at the scene following the incident, police said.
