A toddler is currently in stable condition at a hospital after being bitten by a coyote near Coronation Rd. and Rossland Rd.
A young boy was hospitalized on Monday following a coyote bite in Whitby.
In a statement to , Durham Regional Police spokesperson Const. Nick Gluckstein confirmed the boy is stable after the incident.
Gluckstein mentioned that the child was bitten while playing in a public field close to a wooded area at Coronation Road and Rossland Road.
The victim, described by police as a young male toddler, received treatment at a local hospital before being moved to another hospital in Toronto.

Police issue warning
On Monday morning, Durham Regional Police posted on X advising residents to be “vigilant and proactive” due to several reported coyote sightings and incidents nearby. “Community members, including pedestrians and pet owners, are urged to exercise caution when using public spaces, particularly when accompanied by small children or pets,” the statement said. “Coyotes are most active during the early morning and evening hours and may become aggressive if they feel threatened.” Police recommended that residents report any coyotes showing aggressive or unusual behavior to local authorities. They also stated anyone facing an immediate threat should call 911.Source link
