Authorities north of Toronto have confirmed that human remains found in Barrie, Ont., back in August belong to one of the victims from a double homicide investigation that took place in 2025.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Barrie Police Service revealed that the skeletal remains were discovered on Aug. 13 close to a former encampment in a wooded area near Anne and Tiffin streets.
The remains have been identified as belonging to William “Blake” Robinson.
Although officers initially treated this case separately from the double homicide investigation due to its proximity, they have now established a link between them, according to police reports following the discovery.
<p Robinson, who was 45 years old, was one of two individuals reportedly murdered and dismembered within the city limits. The other victim has been identified as 41-year-old David "Kyle" Cheesequay.
A suspect named Robert Ladouceur, aged 52, was taken into custody on Aug. 2, 2025, facing an extensive list of charges amounting to 33 counts. These charges include both first- and second-degree murder as well as two counts related to improper handling of human remains. Ladouceur also faces additional accusations concerning firearms and drug trafficking along with theft offenses.
Ladouceur, Robinson, and Cheesequay had previously lived together at an encampment located in a wooded section of Barrie between Victoria Street, John Street, and Anne Street S., with police stating that the killings were targeted.
