The Ontario Electrical League is bringing its Roadshow to Barrie on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, and the message is clear: if you’re involved in Ontario’s electrical sector or want to be, you’re invited. This free event will gather independent electrical firms, Licensed Electrical Contractors, business owners, journeypersons, apprentices, distributors, suppliers, manufacturers and other professionals for a night of networking and opportunities. No need to be an OEL member to join us. “The electrical industry consists of many different individuals and businesses that we want to unite,” said Beatrice, executive director of the Ontario Electrical League. “Whether you run an independent electrical company, work in the trade, distribute or supply products used by contractors, are an apprentice or simply wish to learn more about the field, there’s a spot for you at the Roadshow.” For independent electrical contractors and business owners, this Roadshow offers a chance to connect with fellow contractors, engage with distributors and industry partners while discussing both challenges and opportunities they face in their businesses as well as learning more about OEL. For distributors, manufacturers and suppliers it provides time directly with the contractors and electrical professionals who utilize their products. Apprentices are encouraged to attend too; it’s a great opportunity to meet contractors and others in the field while building connections and discovering potential subsidies or supports available to them. “We don’t want anyone thinking ‘That event isn’t for me,’” said Jay of the Ontario Electrical League. “If you’re an independent contractor-come! If you’re a distributor or supplier-come! If you’re an electrician or apprentice-come! If you’ve never interacted with OEL before-come meet us. It’s free; everyone from the industry is welcome without needing membership.” The Roadshow aims for a relaxed atmosphere. Instead of listening through presentations all evening long attendees can mingle freely with one another while having genuine conversations where they can ask questions and build connections throughout the electrical sector.
