Maurice Alvin Baltus May 22, 1947 – September 4, 2026
We are heartbroken to share that Maurice “Moe” Alvin Baltus passed away on September 4, 2026 at the age of 79, surrounded by his family. Maurice was a devoted father, Poppa, great-grandfather, brother and friend. His family meant everything to him, and the love he had for them will always be a part of how we remember him. He was a loving father to Matthew Baltus (Nina) from Cambridge; Tammy-Jo Savickis (Frank Indelicato) from Hamilton; and Jennifer Isik (Dilaver) from London. He took pride in being Poppa to Alex Hodgson (Conner Gordon) of Ingersoll; Selena Baltus (Zaniel Livingstone) of Cambridge; Marcus Baltus of Cambridge; Derek Savickis of Hamilton; Stuart Savickis (Lindsay Rankin) of Hamilton; Anthony Indelicato (Jenna Currie) of Hamilton; Nicholas Indelicato of Hamilton; Chantelle Vivian (Tyler Harvey) of London; Kaylee Vivian of London; Charlie Hunter (Matthew Knox) of Welland; and Madisyn Hunter of London. To his great-grandchildren Ava and Catherine Indelicato and Oaklyn and Sterling Harvey, he was lovingly called “Grandpa Moe,” bringing another layer of joy to his life. Maurice will also be fondly remembered by his sister Darlene Thompson (Dave) from Owen Sound, along with many extended family members and good friends like Bruce Fitzgerald and Janice Bowman. Dad’s pets Peanut and Cashew will surely miss their adventures with him as they were his support animals. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy, his sister Marilyn Deacon and brother-in-law Robert Deacon, as well as his parents Edwin and Dencie Baltus and in-laws Gordon and Isabel Kerslake. We can imagine that waiting for him were some furry friends who went ahead: Zoey & Polly also held special places in his heart. Anyone who knew Maurice could see how much he loved another treasure-his 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme in Viking Blue with a white top. This car was more than just metal to him; it held countless memories that we’ll always cherish when we think about him. As we say our final goodbyes to Dad, Poppa, Grandpa Moe, brother and friend, we find comfort in knowing those who left before him welcomed him home warmly. We believe he’s found peace resting in God’s care with his wife beside him along with their faithful fur babies nearby. Visitation will take place at Corbett Funeral Home located at 95 Dundas St N in Cambridge on Monday September 14, 2026 from 5 pm – 9 pm. A reception from 10-11 am followed by the Funeral Service starting at 11 am will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Assembly located at 127 Hespeler Road in Cambridge on Tuesday September 15th, 2026. Interment will follow at Avonbank Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or gifts during this difficult time for the family, donations made to Calvary Pentecostal Assembly or any charity you prefer would mean so much to us all. Rest peacefully Dad-you were deeply loved, you’ll be greatly missed-and you’ll “remain forever in our hearts.”
