LEMON, Anne Marie – She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday December 22, 2019 at the age of 75. She was a loving wife to Garry for 45 years. Anne was a caring sister to Jon (Sue Bradnam) Vanderzwan and Jeanette (Ed) Quaid. She was also a dear sister-in-law to Claudia (Phil) Updike, Rodney Lemon and Rosemary (Walter) Jasinski. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will fondly remember her. For many years, Anne worked as a high school teacher, first in St. Thomas, Ontario and after her marriage at A. N. Myer Secondary School, followed by Lord Elgin and then returning to A. N. Myer. Her subjects included economics, theatre studies, geography and English. In her last few years of teaching, she found great satisfaction being part of a team that introduced various teaching methods that helped students build confidence and skills for their futures. Anne took pride in their groundbreaking work in peer tutoring. Her curiosity about food trends and healthy living led her to join gourmet clubs. Additionally, she was a member of the University Women’s Club for 35 years. The Garden Club of Niagara allowed her creativity to shine; our home was always filled with beautiful flowers and delightful scents from fresh arrangements. Anne valued the Garden Club’s community support through decorating the Mc Farland House during wintertime. She supported Garry in their shared enthusiasm for vintage British cars and created many memorable road trips with the Niagara British Car Club and the Buffalo Jaguar Car Club. The past year had its challenges-she used teaching techniques like ‘imaging’ to transport herself to a safe space when needed. The musical ‘The Sound of Music’ served as an escape that made treatments easier to handle for her. Nurses frequently remarked on how Anne’s kind words and bright smile uplifted other patients around her. Her smile, vibrant green eyes and spirit kept Garry grounded during tough times. Our gratitude goes out to the medical teams at Victoria Hospital in London and GNGH as well as the devoted staff at Emerald Retirement Residence and Meadows of Dorchester Long Term Care. Cremation has taken place now. While Anne’s family wishes they could celebrate her life openly with you all during these current pandemic restrictions, they will be holding a private visitation and service (face masks must be worn), with interment of her cremated remains at St. Mark’s Cemetery in Niagara-on-the-Lake afterward. Arrangements are entrusted to MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls.
A livestream feed of the service will be available at www. facebook. com/morsemandson on Tuesday September 22, 2020 at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers or gifts for those who wish to express sympathy can make memorial donations to Lymphoma Canada or Canadian Cancer Society.

Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www. morseandson. com
