With heavy hearts, Patrick and Harriet Beardy share the unexpected passing of their oldest son, Lawrence Peter Beardy on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 in Muskrat Dam.
“Peter” as we called him was born on February 7, 1982 in Round Lake (Weagamow Lake). He spent his childhood in Muskrat Dam. He enjoyed being with family and hanging out with friends. He loved hunting and going for boat rides. He also had a passion for sketching and drawing. Playing board games like chess was one of his favorite pastimes.
Lawrence Peter Beardy is survived by his children, Larissa Beardy-Rae, Gavyn Day-Beardy and Erin Day; his parents, Patrick and Harriet Beardy; his siblings, Joni Beardy, Christopher Beardy, Randall Beardy along with common-law Tamela Morriseau and Janelle Beardy; his maternal grandmother Esther Beardy and paternal grandfather Absolom Mc Kay. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles from both sides of the family, as well as his friends and dog Pogo.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anisabeth Kaiya Waswa (Beardy) and his maternal grandfather Jake Beardy along with paternal grandparents Lawrence Beardy and Connie Mckay (Beardy).
A Viewing and Wake Service will be held on Wednesday September 2, 2026 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at EVEREST – WESTFORT CHAPEL located at 420 West Gore Street at James in Thunder Bay, Ontario with Pastor Todd Simpson leading the service.
Afterward, Lawrence Peter Beardy and Family will be taken to Muskrat Dam First Nation where a Funeral Service will occur on Thursday September 3, 2026 at 1:00 in St Matthew’s Anglican Church officiated by Bishop Morris Fiddler and Rev. Roy Morris. The interment will follow at Muskrat Dam First Nation – Blackwater Bay Cemetery.
