Book enthusiasts in Mississauga – and from surrounding areas – probably have plans to gather at the same location late next week.
The Mississauga Symphony Orchestra’s Giant Used Book Sale, regarded as one of the largest events of its kind in Ontario, is back for its 31st year starting on Sept. 17.
This four-day sale continues until Sept. 20 and will once again take place on the lower level of Sherwood Village (previously known over the years as Sheridan Centre and Sheridan Mall).
The shopping centre is located at 2225 Erin Mills Pkwy., just north of the QEW.
Organizers call this sale “one of the city’s most beloved community events” and say it’s a “highlight for book and music lovers alike.”
The Mississauga Symphony Orchestra’s Giant Used Book Sale offers thousands of fiction and non-fiction titles, vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, board games, and sheet music.
“All items are in excellent condition and listed at unbeatable prices,” said book sale organizers in a news release.
The event will be held on:
Sept. 17, from 5-9 p. m. Sept. 18, from 10 a. m.-8 p. m. Sept. 19 (Saturday), from 10 a. m.-4 p. m. Sept. 20 (Sunday), from 11 a. m.-3 p. m. (all items half-price).
Organizers remind attendees that the book sale is cash-only with proceeds going to support the MSO’s annual concert season, the rapidly growing Mississauga Symphony Youth Orchestra, and special large-scale projects like fully-staged opera.
