Officials in Whitby are eager to hear from local residents about their thoughts on the proposed construction of six condominium buildings at the Whitby GO station.
The topic has sparked a lot of interest and conversation, with some expressing concerns regarding the height and density of the buildings, transportation effects, commuter parking issues, and how this project might impact the surrounding area.
The proposal includes:
Approximately 2,355 new units Support for approximately 45 new retail and service jobs Direct access to the Whitby GO Station, including integration with Durham Region Transit bus services Pedestrian-friendly public space and parkland
This development is not being managed by the Town of Whitby – Infrastructure Ontario is behind this proposal and will oversee the planning and consultation process.
Residents can check out the details of the proposal and provide their feedback directly to Infrastructure Ontario through an online survey here.
The survey will be open until August 21.
