Toronto FC shared today that they have officially transferred forward Deandre Kerr to Liga Portugal 2 team AVS Futebol SAD (Second Division) on a permanent basis, while retaining a future sell-on percentage.
“We would like to thank Deandre for his contributions over the past few years, as well as thank the Kerr family for their efforts and commitment to TFC from his Academy days through our First Team,” said Toronto FC General Manager Jason Hernandez. “We wish Deandre all the best in the next chapter of his career.”
Kerr, 23, made a total of 114 appearances and scored 21 goals along with three assists across all competitions since he joined the First Team as a Homegrown Player on January 21, 2022. The Ajax, Ontario native made his professional debut against FC Dallas on February 26, 2022, and netted his first MLS goal against New York City FC on April 24. In 2024, Kerr became the first player in Toronto FC history to score four goals in one competitive match during the 8-1 win over CS Saint-Laurent in the quarter-final second leg of the Canadian Championship.
Kerr represented Toronto FC Academy in the U. S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) competition, scoring 14 goals and providing nine assists in the 2019-20 season. He originally joined the Toronto FC Academy on November 17, 2018.
