It’s been four years since Elnaz Hajtamiri was taken, with police indicating there could also be connections to the Greater Toronto Area, Quebec, Dubai, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Ontario Provincial Police have shared that their ongoing investigation into the kidnapping of a woman from Wasaga Beach now involves Timmins, the Greater Toronto Area, Quebec, Dubai, and the United Arab Emirates.

Elnaz Hajtamiri was forcefully abducted from a residence on Trailwood Place in Wasaga Beach at 8:30 p. m. on January 12, 2022, marking four years since that day. Authorities say she was taken by three men posing as police officers executing a warrant while dressed in quasi-tactical clothing.

At the time of her abduction, she was 37 years old and had previously been attacked by men who struck her with a frying pan in a Richmond Hill parking garage just weeks before her kidnapping. Since then, no one has seen or heard from her.

Her ex-boyfriend, Mohamad Lilo, is currently on trial for her murder. Several others have been arrested and charged for their involvement in both the frying pan assault and the abduction.

“As part of our ongoing investigation, the OPP has identified possible links to Timmins, the Greater Toronto Area, Québec and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. We’re urging anyone with information in these areas to reach out to us,” said a news release from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

A combined reward of $100,000 is being offered by both the Government of Ontario and York Regional Police for any information leading to Elnaz’s location.

“Elnaz’s family and friends have faced years without her during missed memories and celebrations; we are committed to finding answers they deserve,” stated Detective Inspector Steven Martell from OPP’s criminal investigations branch in a news release. “While we can’t disclose specific ties our investigation has with various regions at this point, we believe someone out there knows something that could help us and we encourage them to come forward.”

Elnaz is described as being about 160 cm (5’3″) tall with a slim physique and black hair.

If you have any information regarding this case, please contact Huronia West OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or use their dedicated tip line at 1-833-728-3415. If you’d prefer to remain anonymous, reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or visit ontariocrimestoppers. ca.

The OPP are also promoting the hashtag #Bring Elnaz Home across social media platforms and invite others to do so as well.
